Register for the next Cleveland International Model United Nations on February 12th to 14th 2021.
St. Edward High School and The Cleveland Council on World Affairs are pleased to partner together to give participating Model United Nations delegates a unique and unforgettable conference experience. The Cleveland International Model United Nations Conference (CLEIMUN) is the only one of its kind in the world. Elements from the styles of Harvard Model UN and THIMUN Model UN have been combined together to give participants a real-world Model United Nations experience.
CLEIMUN is the only conference in the world that has combined elements of both the Harvard and THIMUN (The Hague) styles. With this system, delegates prepare draft resolutions before the conference and submit them to an Approvals Panel after lobbying and merging (the European model). Committee debates include open discussions and unmoderated caucuses (the North American model). The blending of the two styles creates robust debate and exemplary resolutions.
The in-person section of the CLEIMUN 21 Conference will take place at Saint Edward High School, located at 13500 Detroit Rd in Lakewood, Ohio. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year's conference will not only be in-person, but will also be remote. There will be numerous virtual committees this year, and delegates will be able to participate in Model UN from the safety of their own homes. This is not the ideal scenario, but in order to keep delegates safe and adhere to COVID-19 guidelines, it is an absolute necessity.
